  Lionel Messi capped his return from injury with a dramatic 83rd minute goal as Inter Miami defeated LA Galaxy 3-1 at Chase Stadium. After missing the last three games, the Argentine legend started on the bench before entering as a half-time substitute with his side leading 1-0. However, Joseph Pantsil’s 59th minute equaliser meant that the scores were level going into the final minutes until Messi stepped up. The Argentine danced past two defenders on the edge of the box before firing a low, well driven shot in the bottom left corner beyond the goalkeeper.

For Eze, the move to Arsenal marks a homecoming of sorts. The player was once part of Arsenal’s youth system before being released at the age of 13, a decision that left him heartbroken. In fact, the setback was so painful that Eze admitted to spending a week crying in his bedroom.

Despite his early heartbreak, Eze never lost his passion for the Gunners. In fact, his love for the club only grew, with the 27-year-old revealing in an interview earlier this year that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry was his childhood hero.

"[Thierry] Henry was number one. Henry and Ronaldinho. Those were the two on YouTube you were watching," Eze told Sign Up – Into Football, back in January.

  WHAT HAPPENED

  The U.S. women's national team named their final opponent for their October friendlies, announcing Thursday that Emma Hayes' side will take on New Zealand Oct. 29 in Kansas City.

  The game will be held at CPKC Stadium, home to the NWSL's Kansas City Current. That will mark the first time the USWNT will play at CPKC, the first purpose-built stadium for women's soccer in the U.S.

  Before traveling to Kansas City, the USWNT will play two matches against Portugal. The first will be on Oct.  23 at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania, and the second will be on Oct. 26 at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Connecticut.

The 21-year-old will now be hoping he can make an impact at Chelsea and has already claimed he is joining "the best team in the world". Former Red Devils defender Paul Parker has not been impressed by Garnacho's behaviour, feeling he has been "disrespectful" towards United while caring only about copying his idol Cristiano Ronaldo, and has warned the youngster he could encounter more problems at Stamford Bridge.

WHAT PARKER SAID

He told mybettingsites.co.uk: "His conduct on and off the pitch was disrespectful. All he wanted to do was score a goal or have a near miss so he could act like Ronaldo. Now he's gone to a club where there’s a lot more ego. He will alienate himself or it’ll be a battle there. United fans backed him when he was going through things both on and off the field. His brother was tweeting things and they backed him and he said nothing. He’s stuck two fingers up at the club that nursed him."

Parker is not sure how Garnacho fits into Chelsea's team, and has also suggested that the winger was lucky to win the 2024 Puskas Award, adding: "I wonder how he gets into the Chelsea team. Does he start in a Champions League game or a big game against Arsenal or Liverpool? No. He’s not got great pace, he hasn’t got the technical ability to beat players unless they dive in. Chelsea are just overloading. They’ve given into the supermarket with one trolley and ended up needing two. I wonder how much football he gets there. He will have to take an incredible jump to do well there. It’s so disappointing that a young boy can behave like that. He’s living off a goal against Everton which came off his shin.”

Em entrevista concedida nesta terça-feira (21), Veiga tirou de letra as questões sobre o seu sentimento e tratou de dizer que seu foco era no trabalho. Que sem a Seleção acabou ficando exclusivo para o Palmeiras.

– Eu também faço trabalho psicológico. Me ajuda muito. A gente tem sempre que gastar nossa energia com aquilo que a gente controla. O que eu controlava eras meu desempenho no Palmeiras, nos treinos, jogos.

Segundo o meia, existia uma vontade grande de ter uma oportunidade no selecionado nacional. Mas ele não deixou que isso o consumisse.

– Lógico que eu tinha expectativa, mas não era isso que movia meu dia a di. Eu trabalhava todos os dias pensando naquilo que eu podia melhorar, ajudar o Palmeiras e, em uma possível convocação ajudar a Seleção também. As coisas aconteceram agora, em seu tempo. Espero aproveitar essa oportunidade.
