تحدث الكولومبي خوان كارلوس أوسوريو المدير الفني لنادي الزمالك عن فوز فريقه مساء الأربعاء على حساب سيراميكا كليوباترا بهدف دون رد في الدوري المصري.

وقال أوسوريو في مؤتمر صحفي بعد مباراة سيراميكا كليوباترا: “لعبنا أفضل من المباراة الماضية، على الأقل خلقنا العديد من الفرص وكنا قادرين على تسجيل المزيد من الأهداف، سيطرنا على مجريات اللعب ونجحنا في نقل الكرة بشكل جيد في الثلث الأخير، سعيد باللاعبين الذين لعبوا في الثلث الأخير عند الخصم”.

وأكمل: “الأجنحة قدمت أداءً جيدًا، وأيضًا ثنائي الوسط، ومثلما قلت في المؤتمر الماضي أنا لا أعتمد على مهاجم رقم 9 أن يُسجل هو فقط الأهداف، ولكن يجب أن يسجل الأهداف كل اللاعبين في كل المراكز”.

وواصل: “سعيد جدًا باللاعبين الناشئين سيف ونيمار ويوسف، وبهؤلاء الصغار مع عناصر الخبرة إن شاء الله سنخلق فريقًا يستطيع منافسة أي خصم، أشكر اللاعبين أصحاب الخبرة مثل الونش الذي أثبت أنه يستحق أن يكون من قادة الفريق، وأشكر شيكابالا الذي كان ينقل اللعب من الدفاع للهجوم وبذل مجهودًا كبيرًا، وأنا سعيد جدًا بكل اللاعبين”.

Pune Warriors started their campaign in IPL 2012 with an uplifting win against pre-tournament favourites, Mumbai Indians and followed it up with an easy win over Kings XI Punjab. But since then, they have played seven games and won only two, with a hat-trick of losses. Second from the bottom, Warriors still have a chance of qualifying for the play-off stage, but with just six games to go they will need to stay focussed.Mumbai Indians have had five wins from nine games even though they haven’t performed to their potential. Of all their big names, only Lasith Malinga has been consistent while Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh haven’t fired. Rohit Sharma is the top-scorer in the line-up but his tournament tally is half that of Ajinkya Rahane’s and he has given his wicket away easily in crunch situations. Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik, though, have shown signs of form after an indifferent start to the season. Mumbai Indians have often reiterated the importance of having Tendulkar at the top to provide stability. However, he has scored 94 runs in five games and Sourav Ganguly would hope to keep the pressure on him.Michael Clarke made an impressive IPL debut in the last game and scored his runs at a good clip with proper cricketing shots, much like Rahane. Clarke’s ability should relieve Robin Uthappa of the stabilising role, allowing him to take a more aggressive stance. In their bowling department, Warriors have missed Ashok Dinda as Ashish Nehra has been expensive as a death bowler.

Steven Smith is the second highest run-getter for Warriors this season with 267 runs at a strike rate of 159.88. While several other top run-scorers have faced more than 200 balls, Smith has only faced 167, highlighting that he could have a greater impact if he is given more time in the middle.Ambati Rayudu has looked in good form in recent games. While his cameo in Mohali won the game for Mumbai Indians from a difficult position, his counter-attacking 62 in Delhi kept the team in hunt after the loss of early wickets. With an inconsistent top order, the responsibility will be again on him.

The visitors have struggled in their only warm-up match against Somerset with the bowling far from impressive and the batsmen struggling, but Laxman insists international players know how to adjust.Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir and Zaheer Khan – all certain starters at Lord’s – are playing their first first-class match in almost seven months. Zaheer ended wicketless in the first innings, Gambhir fell for 21 and Tendulkar went for 26. Laxman, meanwhile, is sitting out the match having played three back-to-back Tests against West Indies but his team-mates were given the runaround with Somerset piling up 425 for 3 on a flat pitch.Rain also cut into the playing time which meant India were left with little more than one session and a day to take what they can from the game before heading to London.On their previous two tours, however, in West Indies and South Africa, India didn’t have a single practice match before the Test series. Jacobs said he was not sure for how long the injury would keep him out, but he hoped to be back for Mumbai’s final group match on May 22.”I won’t be out for too long, as it’s not a ligament or muscle, just bone,” Jacobs told ESPNcricinfo. “It won’t restrict me when I come back.”Jacobs picked up the injury while standing up to Munaf Patel in Mumbai’s match against Kings XI Punjab in Mumbai on May 2. Having often stood up to the fast bowlers in the tournament, Jacobs was struck on his thumb off Patel’s first delivery which is when he is likely to have suffered the fracture, but went on to keep for the rest of the match.Mumbai, for whom he has regularly opened the batting, had signed up Jacobs for this IPL season on the back of his solid performance in the Champions League 2010 for South Africa domestic side Warriors. The only player missing was Rashard Marshall, who was excused due to a death in his wife’s family according to USACA vice president of operations Manaf Mohamed. Marshall is reportedly in Trinidad and will leave on Monday to join the squad for the tournament which starts on January 22.Two anonymous players had told ESPNcricinfo last week that they were considering staying home unless they received an overdue bonus for winning Division Four in Italy last August. Everyone came to the airport, even though it is understood that the bonus still hasn’t been paid.USA coach Clayton Lambert is hoping the team will now be able to focus on the task at hand, finishing in the top two to advance to Division Two in the UAE this April.”For us, it’s all about playing well,” Lambert said. “Once we play as a team, there’s no infighting; everybody kind of rallies around each other. Most of our guys have a bit of first class or international experience so that helps. All we need to really do is go and execute because our talent-level can match any team that is in this particular Division Three. So what we need to do is go and execute and play better than they do.”Several of the teams in the tournament have had solid preparation for Division Three. Oman and Hong Kong both went to Sri Lanka to play a series of warm-up matches against local sides while a number of Papua New Guinea’s players participated in the Australian Country Championships. I’m hoping that all of the guys are serious enough to keep up their training. I just have to see where we are. The good thing is that we have one week prior to the tournament. We should be able to adjust by then.”USA has one warm-up game scheduled against Hong Kong on Monday, less than 24 hours after they land, followed by four days of practices ahead of the first official match against Hong Kong on Saturday. Lambert hopes the squad will make good use of the next five days in order to start the tournament right.”The most important thing is to see how well the guys acclimatise, how well their bodies adjust. The game that we’re going to play, it’s the very first full day after we get to Hong Kong. I would have liked it to be a couple of days later so we could sort of get ourselves acclimatised. I’m just looking to see how well they adjust to the new conditions. We want to have a feel of how the wickets are going to play.”The USACA board meeting scheduled to take place in New York this weekend in conjunction with the team’s departure was cancelled due to “inclement weather.” New York received about six inches of snow on Tuesday, but has had no weather problems since. A decision was due to be taken at the meeting regarding the announcement of the date for this year’s USACA general elections. It is unknown when the board meeting will be rescheduled.
