With various transfer windows still open around Europe, one top European club have reportedly registered their interest in signing a Leicester City midfielder on loan.

The Foxes endured a mixed summer window and have subsequently endured a mixed start to their Premier League campaign as a result. Fresh faces such as Oliver Skipp and Jordan Ayew have helped new manager Steve Cooper guide Leicester to one point in three games which came against Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day.

Since that 1-1 draw, the newly promoted side have been on the wrong end of two narrow 2-1 defeats against both Aston Villa and Fulham, leaving them no choice but to wait until after the international break to secure their first three points of the season when they travel to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Before then, however, Leicester could be set to be dealt a transfer blow outside of England's transfer window, with a forgotten man re-emerging to potentially seal an exit away from the King Power for the current season.

According to Football Insider, Galatasaray have made contact to sign Boubakary Soumare on loan from Leicester for the rest of the current campaign, registering their interest in the midfielder.

The Frenchman spent last season on loan at La Liga side Sevilla and now looks to head out on loan once again in pursuit of eventually ending a nightmare spell at Leicester either next summer or when his current contract expires in June 2026.

Soumare initially arrived for as much as a reported £17m, but has never quite made his mark at the King Power. Truth be told, it would suit all parties if Leicester managed to negotiate a permanent sale, rather than failing to cash in with yet another loan exit for the midfielder this summer.

Starting 28 games for Sevilla last season, despite their struggles in a campaign that ultimately ended with mid-table disappointment in La Liga, Soumare clearly has the quality for a top flight in Europe. But any chance of the Frenchman getting the chance to show that quality in the Premier League with Leicester seems well and truly gone, with a move to Galatasaray now potentially on the cards.

Of course, splashing out to sign eventual flops like Soumare is something that Leicester must avoid, especially after they only just escaped punishment up against the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules, winning their appeal this week.

The Premier League reacted to the appeal's success, saying via Sky Sports: "The Premier League is surprised and disappointed by the independent Appeal Board's decision to uphold an appeal lodged by Leicester City FC regarding the League's jurisdiction over the club's alleged breach of its Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSRs) when the club was a member of the Premier League."

Some will undoubtedly count Leicester lucky to escape punishment, whilst the Foxes themselves will know that they will not get quite so fortunate a second time, meaning that sales such as Soumare's would be so much more important than the loan deal currently mooted.

لاعب روما وإنتر ميلان السابق، أكد في تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة “Het Laatste Nieuws” البلجيكي: “تم استجوابي لمدة 4 ساعات، عندما أرادوا تقديمي أمام قاضي التحقيقات، كانت الساعة قد بلغت السادسة مساءً”.

وأضاف: “أخبروني أنني سأقضي الليل كله في زنزانة، كان الأمر أشبع من  اعتقال بابلو إسكوبار، رغم أنني لا علاقة لي بقضايا المخدرات التي تورط فيها صديقي”.

ويعتبر بابلو إسكوبار، هو أشهر زعماء المافيا في كولومبيا سابقًا، وكوّن ثروة هائلة من الاتجار في المخدرات.

وأضاف: “لم يسألوني أي أسئلة تتعلق بالمخدرات، ولكنهم أرادوا فقط معرفة نوع العلاقة التي تربطني بهذا الشخص المتهم الرئيسي في القضية”.

واختتم: “السجن تجربة غريبة جدًا، ولا أرغب في عيشها مرة أخرى، لقد تم تقديمي على أنني تاجر مخدرات، وأنا لا أعرف أي شيء عما كانوا يتحدثون عنه”.

Ipswich Town will now be preparing for their third Premier League clash of the season already against Fulham, even as the many narratives from transfer deadline day are playing out today.

The Tractor Boys' main priority as the clock ticks down towards the transfer window shutting seems to be centring in on getting a new striker in through the door, with a late move for Lyle Foster to join from Burnley breaking down for Kieran McKenna's men.

Now, however, an old deal looks to be back on as a result of Foster's switch going awry, with Ipswich up against it in trying to get this man through the door before the 11pm cut-off point.

Ipswich's search for a striker

As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, via his social media, a move is now back in motion for Armando Broja to join the ranks at Portman Road, having seen an earlier switch collapse.

Romano has explained that a move has been resurrected as the Tractor Boys could be set to get a better deal out of the Blues for the Albanian centre-forward now than the earlier one, owing to his physical conditions leading to a medical being failed last time around, with the fee now allegedly dropping down from a bumper £30m.

This move could still break down once more with Ipswich and Chelsea only in talks currently, but if a deal were to take place between now and the window slamming shut, the 22-year-old would be seen as an upgrade on Foster as the South African forward is arguably even more goal-shy than Broja.

What Broja could offer Ipswich

The Chelsea outcast would really welcome a new location to call home in the form of Ipswich if a last-gasp move was to get off the ground, with the reserve Blues attacker in need of finding his shooting boots again.

Last campaign, when out on loan at Chelsea's near neighbours Fulham, Broja would regularly fire blanks, with zero goals managed from eight forgettable appearances for the Cottagers.

But, looking at the table above, the 6 foot 3 forward has had encouraging spells in front of goal across his senior career away from his bruising time at Craven Cottage, with his stint at St. Mary's particularly sticking out.

Broja would net six of his nine Saints goals in top-flight action for Southampton, bettering Foster's record for the Clarets last season, with the South African attacker managing five strikes from 24 league clashes.

With former Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino stating that Broja possessed "amazing" potential to be a top star one day, the 22-year-old will hope he can excel under McKenna's watchful eye instead, with the Tractor Boys on the hunt for a new centre-forward owing to George Hirst still being sidelined after a pre-season injury.

Broja could give Ipswich something different away from the likes of ex-Manchester City youngster Liam Delap, with his 6 foot 3 frame gifting the Tractor Boys a potentially assertive forward option, whilst the lofty striker also boasts a better career goalscoring resume than Foster has managed.

The Burnley striker has found the back of the net 24 times playing in countries such as Belgium and Portugal, alongside England, whilst Broja comes up trumps with a superior 44 strikes, if you include his explosive time playing in the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge.

Ipswich will be taking a gamble securing a deal for Broja, especially with his sobering loan stint with Fulham still being fresh, but it could pay off to be a risk that was worth pursuing.

Major change could be in the works for the landscape of North American soccer, with MLS weighing a switch to a Fall to Spring calendar for the league, according to a report. Although discussions are still exploratory, there is a sense that a permanent move could be made in 2026 following the World Cup in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

A new setup would see the league align with many of the world's top divisions, and run on a similar timeline to European football. The league is in the process of holding meetings with sporting directors, chief business officers, owners and fans ahead of a potential switch.

Paul Tenorio of The Athletic first reported MLS's consideration of the potential switch.

MLS has long run on a schedule that clashes with many of the top European leagues – and has led to difficulty in the scope of the international game.

The league, for example, does not always pause for international windows, while a middle-of-the-season transfer window has led to problems with recruitment. MLS franchises' increased presence in the global transfer market is among the reasons for the consideration of a significant change, the report said.

MLS executive vice president of sporting product and competition Nelson Rodriguez offered some insight into the process in an interview with : "We have been engaged, really, since January, and it’s been very extensive and exhaustive and deliberate. It’s still too early. We’re still asking questions. We’re still collecting and analyzing some data. We’re still formulating models. Some of those models are for formats themselves, some of those models are how to assess the information that we get."
