Perhaps spearheaded by the news that this season could be Pep Guardiola's last at the club, it appears there could be significantly more change at Manchester City this summer than in previous years.

Kevin de Bruyne continues to be linked with a move to Saudi Arabia as he enters the final year of his contract at the club, and has recently claimed that "you have to be open to everything" at his age.

Now, it has emerged that City are braced for bids for goalkeeper Ederson, and will even accept offers if the price is right. Meanwhile, Joleon Lescott claimed he will go down as an all-time great who offers a 'unique' take on goalkeeping.

"I don't think the number of Premier League titles alone determines whether you are the best but when all is said and done, I think he will go down as a great", the former Man City defender claimed.

As per Football Insider, City are "seriously considering selling" the goalkeeper, and "would accept a bid in excess of £40million" should it arrive, which would represent a profit for the Brazilian. Rangers have held "discussions" with an exciting young attacking player over a summer move to Ibrox, according to a fresh transfer update.

Philippe Clement will know the importance of a productive summer transfer window, with fine margins ultimately the difference between his side and Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race last season. The Hoops arguably had a little more squad depth and experience when the crunch period arrived, and the hope is that the Gers learn from that heartbreak.

It has already been a strong period since the campaign reached its conclusion, with several quick signings made by Rangers, including Oscar Cortes, Jefte and Connor Barron. It has immediately strengthened the depth and ability at Clement's disposal, but further additions are being mooted, too.

Coventry City midfielder Callum O'Hare enjoyed an impressive 2023/24 season in the Championship, scoring six goals and registering three assists, and he has been linked with a switch to Ibrox this summer. Meanwhile, Flavius Daniliuc has also emerged as a potential addition for the Gers in the approaching weeks and months, with the 23-year-old Salernitana centre-back considered an improvement on Connor Goldson.

Long-term planning is important at Ibrox, too, and a new update suggests that the Scottish giants are eyeing up an exciting talent who could have a big future in the game.

Rangers hold talks with 16-goal ace

According to The Secret Scout on X, Rangers are among a host of clubs who want to sign Middlesbrough striker Ajay Matthews this summer:

"Middlesbrough 18-year-old striker Ajay Matthews set to leave this summer. Some of the clubs that have held discussions and hopeful of signing him include. Celtic, Rangers, Southampton, Brighton, Brentford, Newcastle."

Matthews may be something of an unknown to Rangers supporters, considering he is a young footballer making waves at youth team level, but that's not to say that he couldn't be an excellent signing for Clement.

At just 18, the Middlesbrough ace has outlined his potential with 16 goals in 17 starts for Boro's youth side in 2023/24, showing what a prolific attacking player he is. He has also made two appearances for the first team, going to show that he has been trusted at senior level, despite his tender years.

For now, Matthews would likely go straight into the youth setup at Rangers if he did make the move there, but there is no reason why he couldn't become a regular member of the senior squad if he showcased his quality from the off.

The Hammers recently made bids to sign former Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, who is now at Galatasaray, and Fluminense forward Jhon Arias. More recently, West Ham have held talks to sign Lille striker Jonathan David and have also made it clear they are willing to sign Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson.

Hull City winger Jaden Philogene appear to be on the radar too, and one player who was linked previously was Vitoria Guimaraes star Jota Silva, who has been described as the “Portuguese Jack Grealish” because of his looks and similar playing style.

West Ham agree terms with Jota Silva

According to reports in Turkey, relayed by West Ham Zone, the Hammers have agreed personal terms with Silva, who has a €20m (£17m) release clause in his Vitoria Guimaraes contract. Turkish media cover the report as Jose Mourinho, now manager of Fenerbahce, are also keen on the player, but it looks as if there is an agreement between the Irons and the forward.

Silva, a two-cap Portugal international, is primarily a left-winger but can also play on the right or as a striker, so would offer plenty of versatility to Lopetegui. That is something that caught the eye of Portugal boss Roberto Martinez, who has previously praised the 24-year-old's versatility and work ethic:

"Jota is a different player. I like his versatility, he works hard, he is competitive. This shows his journey, going through the second division gives different qualities. I watched his last game very closely. In football, you also need luck. I believe he is in a very good moment and deserved to be called up.

"When you are in a team that is playing well and has a good dynamic. Jota represents that and is an example for players who did not make it to the youth national teams. Now he is at a level that deserves to be in the national team. He is a good example."
